Our Story
The Traveling Postcard stemmed from a homeschool art project. We searched around for postcards representing the state of Michigan. In an attempt to feed two birds with one scone, we made our own postcards to send to other homeschool students across the country. That’s when Isaac thought it would be a wonderful time to start a business. Engaging in his creative side, I complied.
Our Logo
From the time Isaac was a wee little toddler, he was fascinated with airplanes. He picked out an airplane backpack and lunchbox when he first attended Montessori. Isaac would look at his airplane book and insist it was his instructions to build a Lego airplane. During a visit to my sister’s house in Buffalo, he swapped out his toy truck for a toy spaceship left in the sandbox. Isaac still has it today. As he sprouted, he learned the art of making paper airplanes which he continues to make to this day.
Our Inspiration
We were truly inspired by Postcrossing. We enjoy sending and receiving postcards. We want to share our passion with people everywhere.
Our Frist Card
Our first card was based on vacations and places we visited throughout the state of Michigan. It gave Isaac plenty to talk about while sharing the beauty of our state.
Our Goals
Ultimately, we want other artists to join our site once it is up and running smoothly. We also wish to expand on making cards for other states. Eventually, we hope to incorporate homeschool education to accompany our postcards. Hopefully, we can expand our market globally. Lastly, we want to raise funds for our favorite community event through the sales of our cards.
